The Welland Run 10K returns on July 5, 2026 to Welland, Ontario for its 2nd annual edition. Organized in conjunction with CNC Festival (visit cncfestival.com), the event brings a Canada Day–themed running celebration to Merritt Island Park and the Welland Canal Trail. The second year keeps the community-focused spirit established at the inaugural race.
Race day offers three distances to suit different goals: a 10K challenge, a 5K, and a shorter 2.5K family route. The event day opens with an 8:00 AM start and village activities continue through the mid-afternoon, giving runners and spectators time to enjoy food vendors, music and family programming.
What sets Welland Run 10K apart is the combination of a scenic canal-side route and a festival atmosphere. Entries include an event T-shirt, bib number and a finisher medal; electronic timing chips record race results. Race-day entertainment features a live DJ, a kids’ zone and a photo booth, and registered participants can take part in free wellness classes including yoga, Pilates and Zumba. The organisers lean into the Canada Day theme, creating a multicultural community celebration around the runs.
Registration is open now and runs through July 1, 2026 — register early to secure a spot in your preferred distance.
