The Emerald Mile 2026
The Emerald Mile is a festive, one-mile race through the heart of Ottawa's most iconic streets — and in 2026, it coincides with the city's first St. Patrick's Day Parade since 2019, making this inaugural Run Ottawa event truly unforgettable.
The race starts at the Supreme Court of Canada on Wellington Street and follows the parade route past Parliament Hill, across the Rideau Canal, along Sussex Drive and York Street, finishing in the historic ByWard Market. Come dressed in your best green for a one-mile lap through the capital at its most celebratory.
Distances include the adult 1-mile race and a kids' run for younger participants (ages 5-12). All participants registered by February 27 receive personalized race bibs; chip timing and post-race refreshments are included for everyone. The Emerald Mile is presented in partnership with the Irish Society of the National Capital Region. Run Ottawa members receive one complimentary entry plus 10% off additional events.
