The Start Here Go Anywhere 4K Run/Walk takes place each April in Windsor, Ontario — the 2026 edition is scheduled for April 19. The race is organized and produced by students in St. Clair College’s Sport and Recreation Management program at the Windsor Main Campus and returns as an annual campus community event that brings students, staff and local residents together for a morning of activity and fundraising.
The event’s primary offering is a 4-kilometre run/walk that begins and ends at the entrance to the SportsPlex on campus. The festival-style day also includes a 1-kilometre run for younger participants, family-friendly on-site activities and student volunteers managing race operations. The course threads along the west side of campus, moves past The Village at St. Clair (Schlegel Villages), cuts through the Sports Park and returns along the Patti France Promenade to the SportsPlex finish.
Start Here Go Anywhere stands out for its student-led, cross-program collaboration and local impact. Proceeds from the event support KidSport Windsor — the 2025 run raised $4,000 — and help fund annual scholarships within the Sport and Recreation Management program, including two $500 awards and a new $1,000 first-year scholarship. Multiple college departments take part: Early Childhood Education provides children’s activities, Woodworking Technician students crafted cornhole prizes, Culinary Management supplies a specially designed St. Clair cookie for participants, and the St. Clair College Alumni Association serves as a presenting partner. Past partnerships have also included perks for early registrants, such as complimentary Windsor Spitfires game tickets.
