Course Details
The Sinister 7 Ultra course is renowned for its challenging and varied terrain. The main 100-mile route is divided into seven distinct stages, each highlighting different geographic and historical features of the Crowsnest Pass region. Runners traverse a mix of double track, single track, high alpine paths, and dirt roads. The course features over 6,600 meters (21,650 feet) of elevation gain, with significant climbs and descents throughout.
Participants encounter technical trails with roots, rocks, water crossings, and mud holes, as well as exposed alpine sections and forested paths. The route is designed to test endurance, navigation, and trail running skills, making it a true ultramarathon challenge. Aid stations are strategically placed to provide hydration and nutrition support, and the course is well-marked for safety.
