Saskatoon First Responders Half Marathon 2026
The First Responders Half Marathon series began as the Edmonton Police Foundation Half Marathon, co-founded by Cst. Lisa Simonson and Cst. Jana Marshall, alongside Trevor Soll of Multisportscanada. Originally focused on police, the event expanded in 2016 to honor all first responders, including fire, EMS, and military personnel. This series not only celebrates these heroes but also raises awareness of their challenges, fostering community unity through health and wellness events across Western Canada.
The Saskatoon edition of the First Responders Half Marathon is a tribute to the dedication and sacrifices of first responders. By participating, runners support vital causes and engage in a meaningful experience that highlights the importance of mental health and community support. The event partners with the Canadian Mental Health Association, Alberta Division, to ensure that proceeds benefit those in need, making a significant impact on both local and broader communities.
