The Santa Shuffle began 34 years ago in Edmonton, Alberta, as a fundraiser for local Salvation Army initiatives. Since 2001, it has expanded nationally, featuring a 5km Fun Run and 1km Elf Walk for all ages and skill levels. Participants fundraise to support community programs and the event is held in partnership with the Running Room.

The Sudbury event encourages festive attire and includes a mix of track and neighborhood routes, starting and ending at the Delki Dozzi Playground. Awards are given for best-dressed participants and top fundraisers.
