The Pelee Island Winery Half Marathon is a unique and exclusive annual event held on Pelee Island, Ontario, celebrated as Canada's southernmost half marathon. The 2026 edition marks the twelfth running of this sought-after race, which is renowned for its intimate atmosphere and scenic beauty. With participation capped at around 400 runners, the event offers a rare opportunity to experience the tranquil charm of Pelee Island while enjoying a well-organized race.

Runners are treated to a picturesque course that winds through vineyards, along the shores of Lake Erie, and past natural island landscapes. The event is more than just a race; it is a celebration of the island's culture and hospitality. After crossing the finish line inside the Pelee Island Winery Pavilion, participants are invited to a post-race luncheon featuring local wines and live entertainment, making for a memorable and festive conclusion to the day.

The half marathon course covers 21 kilometers and is designed to showcase the natural beauty of Pelee Island. The route begins near the Vin Villa Miniature and finishes inside the Pelee Island Winery Pavilion. The first 5 kilometers are on paved (tar and chip) roads, followed by 8 kilometers of gravel paths, and the final 8 kilometers return to paved surfaces. The course is predominantly flat, making it accessible for runners of all abilities and ideal for those seeking a personal best or a relaxed, scenic run.
