The Mount Albert Sports Day 5km Run/Walk is an annual community event held on the first Saturday in June. Established in 2002, the race features a rolling hill course with a fast finish, welcoming competitive runners, recreational participants, and families. This event promotes a healthy lifestyle and community well-being and offers numerous prizes and medals to top finishers.

The race starts and finishes at the Mount Albert Community Centre, running along East Main Street and North Centre Street. The entire course is 100% paved with a certified rolling hills layout that challenges runners with elevation changes, culminating in a fast downhill finish. Participation has grown to over 400 runners in recent years.
