The Monarch Ultra is an annual event that combines conservation, education, and physical activity to raise awareness for monarch butterfly conservation. The 2025 event marks the third annual Monarch Festival & Race, featuring a 10km race and a 1km Kids Fun Run.

The event includes a vibrant festival with live music, local crafts, face painting, and informative booths to educate attendees about the importance of preserving monarch butterflies.

• 10km out-and-back course starting and ending at Millennium Park, 130 King Street, Peterborough
• Route follows the Rotary Trail beside the Otonabee River, mostly flat and fast
• Mixed surfaces primarily on trails along Rotary Trail and TransCanada Trail
• Water station at the 5km turnaround point; participants must bring their own vessels (cup-free event)
