Melfort Multi K 2026
The Melfort Multi-K is an annual community race held each September in Melfort, Saskatchewan. The 2026 edition takes place on Saturday, September 19 and is organized by the Melfort Multi-K committee. The event began in September 2011 under the direction of Dr. Richard van der Ross and celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2026.
The event lineup includes a Castle Kids 1K Fun Run (maximum age 10), a 5K Run/Walk now run as the Jeff Gendall Memorial 5KM, a 10K Run/Walk and a 21.1K half marathon. Race day opens with the half-marathon start at 8:30 a.m., followed by opening ceremonies and warm-up, the kids 1K at 9:00 a.m., and the 5K and 10K at 9:15 a.m. Package pickup takes place at the Kerry Vickar Centre the Friday before the race (4:00–8:00 p.m.) and again race morning from 7:00–8:30 a.m.
What sets Melfort Multi-K apart is its community-first ethos: the race routinely attracts about 600 participants, relies on more than 100 local volunteers, and receives substantial support from area businesses. The race recognizes repeat finishers through a 5X / 10X Club, features a community medal design contest for the 15th anniversary, and honours the late Jeff Gendall by naming the 5K in his memory and including his image on race bibs. Tech shirts are available as an optional purchase for the 5K–21.1K fields.
Registration opens May 1, 2026 and the registration deadline is Wednesday, September 16, 2026. Runners and walkers planning to attend should register before the deadline and check package pickup windows at the Kerry Vickar Centre.
