Frost Country 2026
Frost Country XC — Run Wild at Mooney's Bay is Ottawa's signature autumn cross-country running experience, and it's exactly as wild as it sounds. Held at Mooney's Bay, the course winds across grass, gravel, and The Hill — complete with hay bales thrown in for good measure. This is true cross-country racing, and the terrain earns every bit of that title.
The 2026 edition features two distances: a Kids 2K for ages 5–16, and an adult/youth 6K for everyone ready to tackle the elements. Parents and guardians are welcome to accompany younger participants in the 2K. No frills, no flat road — just honest cross-country running in the season's crispest air.
Whether you're bringing a young runner to their first cross-country race or lining up yourself for an autumn challenge that actually tests your footing, Frost Country is a Run Ottawa community favourite that celebrates the spirit of running in all conditions. Layer up and bring your best mud-ready mindset.
