The Crystal Beach 5K returns to Fort Erie on October 10, 2026. Now in its 21st year (19th running), this community-rooted race has grown into a local tradition that draws families, weekend warriors and competitive runners alike. Organised by the Crystal Beach 5K team, the event centers on a lively village atmosphere along Erie Road and The Grove.
Race day features a 1K Kids Run and a 5K run/walk. The Kids Run starts at 10:15 a.m. and the 5K field is off at 11:00 a.m., with both start and finish located in front of 4020 Erie Rd. The course is an out-and-back on Erie Road and surrounding streets; the event uses bib-chip timing and posts results after the race. Race pack pick-up is available the day before (October 9, 4–7 p.m.) and on race morning starting at 8:30 a.m.
What sets Crystal Beach apart is the post-race party as much as the pavement. Organizers advertise a fast, flat course ideal for PBs, plus community perks: finisher medals for everyone, live music, a cash BBQ and food trucks, and — yes — a free beer for participants. Early entries also snag race swag; custom shirts, bibs and medals feature regularly and volunteers from the neighbourhood keep the vibe friendly and festive.
Registration for the 2026 race is open through Race Roster. Be one of the first 500 registrants to receive a free Crystal Beach 5K t-shirt, and plan to stick around after the finish for music, results and the post-race celebration.
