Top Of The World Ultra - 50k, 28k & 13k 2026
Top Of The World Ultra returns to Sun Peaks, British Columbia on June 27, 2026. Organized by Run Like A Girl, the 2026 edition is presented as the second annual Sun Peaks trail-running festival and brings back a mountain-focused route package that highlights the resort’s singletrack and high alpine terrain.
The one-day event offers three in-person distances — 50K, 28K and a shorter 15K (route closer to ~17K) — with staggered starts: 50K at 7:30 AM, 28K at 8:00 AM and 15K at 8:30 AM. Package pick-up opens on race morning from 6:30–8:30 AM at the Sun Peaks Main Village (base of the Sunburst Express). A virtual option is also available for those who want to run from home and receive event swag by mail.
What distinguishes Top Of The World is mountain access: the 50K traverses all three Sun Peaks mountains and reaches the summit of Mount Tod, offering long ridge sections, alpine meadows and technical singletrack. The event is community minded — $5 from every registration supports the Sun Peaks Mountain Rescue Society — and keeps the post-race vibe local with finish-line food, awards and a custom finisher cup and medal for entrants. Practical race details include a cupless policy (bring a reusable cup), timing via a timing app, an allowed drop bag for the 50K to Aid Station #2, and crew access to the top-of-Sunburst aid station (chair-lift tickets required).
Entries are limited to 400 runners and registration closes when the cap is reached or on June 19, 2026. Interested runners should register at the official event site to secure a spot and review race-day logistics and gear requirements.
