The Phantom Run takes place in November in North Vancouver, BC — the 2026 edition is set for November 14. Organized by ForeTrails as part of the Trail Whisperer Race Series, the event has been held annually and draws local trail runners to the lower reaches of the North Shore trails around the Seymour River.
The one-day event offers three distance options: 25 km (08:00 start), 19.5 km (08:30 start) and 12 km (09:00 start). All races start and finish at the Lynn Canyon Park parking lot inside the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve (LSCR). Due to trail volume the organizer may stage wave starts for the 25K and 12K, and every entrant must check in 45 minutes prior to their start.
What sets The Phantom Run apart is its late-season, community-focused atmosphere and trail variety. The courses mix technical singletrack and non-technical connectors with some steep climbs and descents through forested sections and along the Seymour River. The race doubles as a fundraiser for the North Vancouver Food Bank — racers are asked to bring non-perishable food donations — and finishes with hot soup and post-race treats. Entry includes a race souvenir at package pickup and finisher medals at the line; awards go to the top three in each gender category.
Registration follows tiered pricing and opens well before race day with early-bird deadlines; package pickup is offered Friday evening at the North Vancouver Running Room and on race morning. Check registration windows and sign up early to secure a spot for this popular fall trail race.
