The Long Run 2026
The Long Run Backyard Ultra is Atlantic Canada's first true Backyard Ultra, brought to life by Tidal Force — the organizers behind Riverview's renowned Race the Bore event. Staged on June 13–14, 2026 along the banks of the Petitcodiac River in Riverview, New Brunswick, this last-person-standing race takes the classic Backyard Ultra format and sets it against one of Canada's most unique natural backdrops.
In a Backyard Ultra, every runner completes a 6.7 km loop every hour on the hour. When the bell rings, you go again — or you're out. There are no set distances, no podium for second place, and no finish line until only one runner remains. It's a test of pacing, mental fortitude, and the willingness to keep showing up when others don't.
The Long Run follows the Riverfront Trail and Trans Canada Trail through Riverview and Moncton, starting and finishing at the Riverfront Gazebo — the same iconic spot used for Race the Bore. The overlap means runners can even combine both events, experiencing the tidal bore phenomenon of the Petitcodiac River as part of their day on the course. Whether you tackle one loop or push deep into the night, The Long Run offers a compelling and one-of-a-kind ultra running experience in South East New Brunswick.
