Outrun the Stigma Annual Run 2025
Outrun the Stigma began in October 2013 at the University of Calgary as an annual mental health run/walk. It has expanded to Edmonton and Toronto, aiming to reduce mental health stigma by hosting annual runs and providing an online story-sharing platform. The Edmonton chapter, active since 2016, supports local mental health organizations and engages the community.
The event features races of 5 km and 10 km starting and finishing at the University of Alberta Main Quad, with course routes through scenic William Hawrelak Park in Edmonton's river valley, followed by a mental health expo with local organizations and guest speakers.
