The Kawartha Lakes Winter Festival takes place on Sunday, February 1, 2026 in Fenelon Falls (City of Kawartha Lakes) and is held at Eganridge Resort, Golf Club & Spa. This is the inaugural running of the festival and it is staged as a one‑day community winter event focused on outdoor health, fitness and family activities. Race-day operations are led by the event team with race kit pickup available the morning of the event and an advance pickup window the Friday before.

The morning schedule centers on snowshoe and trail‑shoe running with distances that include a 1K kids/family run, plus 5K and 10K options for youth, adults and seniors. Snowshoe starts and trail‑shoe starts are staggered: the 1K and snowshoe 5K/10K begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the trail‑shoe 5K/10K at 11:00 a.m. Awards and lunch take place around noon in the clubhouse. Online registration closes in late January and there is no race‑day registration.

What sets the festival apart is the mix of competitive and family programming on a resort golf property — expect rolling, groomed snow trails across the nine‑hole course, an afternoon of on‑site family fun (snowmobile rides, tobogganing, maple syrup tasting, bonfire and live music) and a community focus that supports BGC Kawartha. Athlete perks include a custom souvenir bib, a custom neck warmer buff, individual timing, a wooded finisher’s keepsake, post‑event massage and a hot lunch served by Eganridge chefs. The 10K snowshoe carries a prize purse with trophies and engraved recognition for winners.

• Start/finish on the 1st Tee, west of the clubhouse at Eganridge Resort Golf Club & Spa in Fenelon Falls.
• Rolling, challenging loops across the resort nine‑hole golf course using snow‑covered, groomed trails when conditions permit.
• Course overlooks Sturgeon Lake; family activity area is located in front of the lodge with views over the lake.
• Distances offered on the course: 1K kids/family run, 5K and 10K options for both snowshoe and trail‑shoe runners.
• Pets are not allowed on the race trails unless they are registered service animals; on‑site parking is limited behind the clubhouse.

• Prize purse: $1,500 total prize money for the 10K snowshoe with cash awards for the top three open men and women.
• Family activities: Afternoon program includes snowmobile rides, tobogganing, maple syrup tasting, a bonfire and a Fleming Logger Sports Team demonstration.
• Post‑race meal: Hot lunch served in the clubhouse for participants following awards.
