The Johnny Miles Running Event, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, offers a mainly flat, scenic loop course with substantial support and a memorable finish line experience. Named after Johnny Miles, a Canadian marathon runner and two-time Boston Marathon winner, this event attracts runners of all levels to New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.

Races include marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, and a youth 5K with strong community involvement and a friendly atmosphere.

* Certified, flat four-loop course * Road surface * Course closes at 1:00 PM; runners after that use sidewalks and follow traffic laws * Bike support available after course closure * Water stations become self-serve after closure
