Heritage to Hatzic 5 & 10 K Road Race 2026
Heritage to Hatzic 5 & 10K is Mission’s spring road race held Sunday, March 29, 2026, organized by Peninsula Runners. The event is a long-running community staple — recorded results for the race series go back to 2012 — and it returns each year with the same neighbourhood-focused vibe that draws local runners and visiting participants alike.
Racers can choose a 5K or 10K road distance, with the mass start at 9:00 AM. A new kids 1K for ages 12 and under starts at 9:05 AM on the track at Heritage Park Middle School. There is also a virtual option: participants can run a route in their own neighbourhood and submit time and photo evidence by April 6th. The course traces streets down to the park, out toward Hatzic, then returns to finish up at the school; the layout stays on public roads and is relatively flat.
What sets Heritage to Hatzic apart is its local, charitable focus. The race raises funds for the Mission Hospice Society with an $11,000 fundraising target; past editions have raised four-figure sums for the charity. Organizers award prizes for fastest finishers and for top fundraisers, and the event leans into community — local sponsors, a kids race on the school track, and scenic stretches alongside the Fraser River and valley.
Registration details are posted well in advance: entrants who register by December 31, 2025 receive a $25 Pen Runners gift card incentive, and those who register by March 10 may opt to buy a race shirt for a reduced fee. Online registration is open through March 25, with packet pick-up available the Thursday before the race and limited pickup on race morning.
