The Bow Valley Ultra (BVU) is an inaugural 100-mile trail running event set in the picturesque Kananaskis region, starting and ending in Canmore, Alberta. Scheduled for September 27, 2025, this race showcases stunning Bow Valley trails and aims to enhance local tourism during the fall season.
Participants must complete a qualifying 50-mile trail race and contribute at least 8 hours of trail work before the event, promoting trail stewardship and community involvement.

- Elevation Gain: Approximately 5,900 meters
- Terrain: 75% single track with some double track
- Estimated Completion Time: 20 to 32 hours
- Finish Line Cutoff: 3 PM (32 hours)
- Mandatory Gear: headlamp with extra batteries, bear spray, waterproof jacket, collapsible cup/bottle, survival blanket/bivy, whistle/horn, warm hat and gloves
- Aid Stations: electrolyte drinks, snacks, basic first aid; event is cupless, bring reusable cup/bottle
- Pacers allowed at designated aid stations only
