Embrace Winter 2026

The Embrace Winter 2026 is a signature running event held on February 15 as part of Ottawa’s Winterlude festival. It welcomes runners of all ages and abilities, offering distances from a Kids 1K to a full Marathon. The event is designed for anyone looking to celebrate Canadian winter, stay active, and enjoy the camaraderie of a supportive running community.

Runners are drawn to the Embrace Winter Run for its scenic, safe, and inclusive atmosphere. With a focus on community spirit and the unique challenge of winter running, it’s a chance to experience Ottawa’s winter beauty while participating in a well-organized, festive event.

The course starts and finishes at the Canadian War Museum, guiding runners along closed, paved roads with sweeping views of the Ottawa River and downtown skyline. The route follows an out-and-back loop beside the river, featuring a short hill near the start and at each turnaround—repeated according to your chosen distance. Runners benefit from a smooth, secure surface, professional timing, and on-course nutrition from XACT. After crossing the finish line, participants are treated to snacks and hot chocolate, making for a warm and welcoming winter race experience.
