The 2026 Edmonton First Responders Half Marathon presented by San Rufo Homes returns to Edmonton on Sunday, May 3 — the 14th edition of this city fundraiser and community run. Organized by Multisportscanada in partnership with local sponsors, the event honours first responders and raises funds for partner charities including OSI-CAN and Wounded Warriors Canada.
Race day features multiple distances to suit a wide range of goals: a 21 km half marathon, 10 km run, 5 km run/walk and a 1 km fun run. Race site opens at 9:00 a.m., with a mandatory pre-race briefing at 9:45 a.m. The half marathon starts at 10:00 a.m., the 10 km at 10:15 a.m., and the 5 km and 1 km begin at 10:20 a.m. There is also a team category (four runners) for the half and 10 km where teammates run together and a team time is calculated as the average of the four individual times.
What sets this event apart is the River Valley setting and the charity focus. The courses thread Edmonton’s River Valley Trail System and cross notable landmarks such as Quesnel Bridge and the Fort Edmonton Footbridge. Entry packages include a short-sleeve cotton shirt (not guaranteed for entries received after April 17), a finisher’s medal, aid (fluid) stations, post-race snacks and eligibility for draw prizes; chip timing is used pending minimum attendance. A reduced-fee charity category lets participants reserve a spot for $40 while committing to a fundraising minimum for the event’s partnered charities.
Registration is open now with entry fees starting at $95 for the half, $65 for the 10 km and lower tiers for shorter distances. Package pickup takes place Saturday at Fast Trax Run & Ski (7326 101 Ave NW) from 1:00–5:00 p.m.; race-day pickup is available by request. Runners are advised to register early — entries received after April 17 are not guaranteed event merchandise.
