
2025 Powderface Mountain Marathon & Half Marathon
The Powderface Mountain Marathon is a renowned trail running event in Alberta, featuring approximately 42.6 km of scenic singletrack trails in Kananaskis Country near Bragg Creek. Alongside the full marathon, a half marathon of around 21 km is also offered, making it a must-do race for trail enthusiasts.
Runners experience significant elevation gain and stunning natural beauty while running through bear country, requiring mandatory gear such as bear spray and a light shell. The event typically attracts up to 150 participants each late June, with moderate humidity and mild temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C.

* Marathon distance approx. 42.6 km with 1,286 meters elevation gain * Half marathon distance approx. 21 km * Trail surface throughout * Aid stations provide water, electrolyte drinks, cola, fruit, pretzels, chips, and Xact Nutrition Fruit Bars * Cut-off times: Aid station 3 (2nd Powderface road crossing) at 12:00 pm; Aid station 4 (Powderface parking lot) at 2:00 pm * No dogs, headphones, strollers, or baby joggers allowed * Mandatory gear includes water vessel, light shell/jacket, toque or buff, and bear spray due to bear country
