10 km Université Laval 2026
10 km Université Laval 2026 takes place on 20 September 2026 at PEPS de l'Université Laval in Québec City. Organized by Rouge et Or Athlétisme in collaboration with Groupe Défis, the race carries a long heritage — it is promoted as the second-oldest running event in Québec and the oldest sporting event held by Université Laval.
The event is a single-day, on-site festival of running with distances for children and adults: 800 m, 1.5 km, 5 km and the flagship 10 km. Site access opens at 07:30 on race morning and the 10 km starts at 08:30, followed by award ceremonies and later starts for the 5 km (10:15), the 800 m (11:15) and the 1.5 km (11:30). Bib pickup is available the Friday before the race (18 September, 15:00–19:00 at PEPS) and on Saturday at the track near the start.
What sets this event apart is its campus atmosphere and connection to Rouge et Or athletics — organizers invite runners to "Prêt à fouler la mythique piste d’athlétisme du Rouge et Or ?" Every finisher receives a wooden medal made in Québec (participants can opt out at registration to reduce waste). The race is sanctioned by Athlétisme Québec, supports the Club d'athlétisme Rouge et Or, and runs with an emergency medical plan that includes a clinic vehicle and a first-aid trailer near the start. Practical touches for race day include paid PEPS parking (maximum CA$5.20 for the day) and recommended use of public transit or carpooling due to nearby street closures.
Registration follows tiered pricing with early-bird rates in effect until 31 March and higher fees closer to race day; transfers or refunds (less transaction fees) are permitted up to 30 days before the event. For current entry status, fee windows and to register, visit the event's official registration page.
