The Weekend 5K and Kids 1K Series is one of Run Ottawa's most accessible and community-focused offerings — a two-event series that makes racing affordable for the whole family across two of Ottawa's most beautiful outdoor settings.

In 2026, the series features two events: Sunday, April 26 at Beechwood Cemetery (280 Beechwood Ave), and Saturday, August 8 at the Dominion Arboretum. Each location offers a distinctive and scenic running environment through some of Ottawa's most beloved green spaces.

Distances include a Kids 1K (free for all), Youth 5K (free for all youth), and Adult 5K at just $10 in advance. Run Ottawa Members get free entry across all categories — outstanding value for the whole club. The series supports OCISO (Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization), which delivers culturally and linguistically appropriate settlement services to Ottawa's newcomer communities.
