Wandering Moose is PACE Trail Runs' fall trail race in Kelowna, British Columbia, held on October 10, 2026. The event has run in previous years — results are available for 2024 and 2025 — and returns to Myra Bellevue and the KVR corridor for another day of rugged singletrack and big canyon views. PACE organizes the race as part of its well-established trail series, with community-minded race operations and a focus on sustainable, low-waste practices.
The race is a single-day event offering 35K, 25K and 12K distances plus a roughly 1 km kids run. Start times are staggered: 35K begins at 8:00 a.m., 25K at 9:00 a.m., 12K at 10:00 a.m., and the kids race at 10:30 a.m.; a mandatory pre-race briefing is held 10 minutes before each start. Courses begin on the historic Kettle Valley Railway (KVR) at about 1,250 m and thread through Myra Bellevue Provincial Park on a mix of flat KVR sections, steep climbs and technical descents.
What sets Wandering Moose apart is the trail variety and local focus: expect loamy, rooty singletrack like Angel Springs and Myra Bailout, technical ribbons such as Blancher’s Silver and Vapour, creek crossings, and sweeping canyon vistas. Race entry includes catered lunch (pizza or a vegan/gluten-free curry option), a soft-style t-shirt with opt-out available, a custom PACE shoe bag, and a hand-made ceramic finisher medal. The event also supports trail stewardship — a donation toward Friends of the South Slopes is included — and the kids race donates proceeds to the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Georgia’s Wish.
Registration opens December 1 at 7:00 a.m. PST via Race Roster; runners should review mandatory shuttle, cut-off and gear information when registering.
