The Alpenglow 100 is a mountain trail running festival held July 3–5, 2026 in Valemount, British Columbia. Runners gather in this small Robson Valley town to tackle high alpine ridgelines that look out over Mount Robson, the Premier’s Range and Kinbasket Lake. Race activity centres on Whiskey Fill Farm for starts, finishes and the weekend gathering.
The weekend offers multiple distances: a family-friendly kids run (~1km) plus 38km, 65km and 100km courses. Starts are spread across Friday evening and Saturday morning — the 100km launches Friday at 8:30pm (overnight start), the 65km begins Saturday at 6:00am and the 38km at 9:00am. Mandatory pre-race briefings occur 15 minutes before each start, and finish-line awards are handed out during the post-race get-together on Sunday.
What sets Alpenglow apart is the alpine scenery and the race’s mountain-first logistics. Courses climb to ridgelines above 2,300m and showcase the alpenglow phenomenon at sunrise and sunset. Aid stations are well stocked (Näak gel, waffles, drink mixes, Coke, fruit, chips, pickles and hot food at overnight stations) and the event runs cupless — runners must bring a collapsible cup. The kids race is free, non-competitive and offers finisher stickers with an optional donation feature that supports Butterfly Support Network. Runners should also note strict mandatory-gear rules (including emergency bivy/space blankets and waterproof outerwear) and a one-hour time penalty per missing mandatory item.
Entries for the 2026 event are sold out.
