SudburyROCKS 2026
SudburyROCKS returns to Greater Sudbury, Ontario on May 24, 2026. Building on its 20th‑anniversary year in 2025, the event has grown into a major spring road‑race weekend that draws local runners, families and out‑of‑town visitors to Sudbury’s downtown precinct. The weekend includes an expo and race kit pick‑up on Saturday at École Secondaire Du Sacré‑Coeur.
Race day offers a full menu of distances: a full marathon (with a dedicated marathon walk start), an 8‑person marathon relay, a half marathon, 10K, 5K family run/walk, a celebrity challenge and a 1K kids race. Start times begin with the marathon walk at 6:00 a.m., marathon and half at 7:55 a.m., the kids’ 1K at 8:05 a.m., the 10K at 8:35 a.m. and the 5K/family event at 9:00 a.m., allowing groups and supporters to space out their race day routines.
What makes SudburyROCKS distinctive is its strong community focus and charity impact. Proceeds benefit the Health Sciences North Foundation; participant fundraising and event proceeds in 2025 were estimated at more than $60,000. The event runs with the help of several hundred volunteers and emphasizes race‑day amenities: t‑shirts for all registrants, frequent aid stations with water and sport drink, porta‑johns on course and specific support for marathon relay teams and family entries.
Registration for the 2026 edition is now open. Runners planning a destination weekend will find a downtown start/finish, an expo on Saturday for kit pick‑up, and a range of distances that suit first‑timers, relay teams and seasoned marathoners alike.
