Sarnia Sole Burner 2026
The Sarnia Sole Burner returns to Sarnia on June 27, 2026 — presented by Squirrel's Nut Butter and organized by Sole Burner Endurance. The one-day event gathers local and visiting endurance runners at Suncor Park / Wawanosh Wetlands for a compact, repeatable loop that makes logistics easy for crews and spectators.
The event runs three loop-style races: the Mama Didn’t Raise No Fool 5K(ish) Run (presented by Refined Fool), Kern Water's 3 Hour Sole Burn, and Lambton Sanitation's 6 Hour Sole Burn. The course is a roughly 2.35K paved loop; the 5K field starts at 8:55 a.m. and the 3- and 6-hour races begin at 9:00 a.m. Packet pickup is available the evening before (June 26, 5:00–6:30 p.m. at Refined Fool London Road) or on race morning (7:00–7:30 a.m. at the start line).
What distinguishes this event is the small-loop format and strong community focus: every registration includes a locally made technical race shirt, 5K finishers receive a Sole Burner medal, and 6-hour finishers earn a mesh trucker hat. The course winds through wetlands and parkland on a fully paved path with a few short hills (about 20 m of gain per loop). Organizers donate 100% of proceeds to a rotating charity; this year proceeds benefit Heaven's Wildlife Rescue. The 3- and 6-hour races also offer cash prize incentives (contingent on sellout) and limited pacer support in the final hour of the 6-hour race.
Registration is open now; note organizers cannot guarantee specific t-shirt sizes for entries received after May 28. Runners should register early to secure preferred sizing and avoid late-entry price increases.
