Mount Robson Marathon 2026
The Mount Robson Marathon takes place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Fraser-Fort George, British Columbia. This annual event has been running since at least 2013 and is organized by the Mount Robson Marathon team. It offers a unique opportunity to run along the iconic Berg Lake Trail inside Mount Robson Provincial Park, showcasing some of British Columbia's most stunning mountain scenery.
The race features multiple distances suited to a variety of runners: a 50K Ultra Marathon, a Half Marathon, a 12K Kinney Lake run, a 5K Flatlander, plus a Kid’s Fun Run. The Ultra starts promptly at 8:00 am, followed by staggered starts for the other races between 10:00 am and noon. Registration and race kit pickup happen over two days, with the main race activities concentrated on race day, including an awards and flower ceremony at 1:00 pm.
What sets the Mount Robson Marathon apart is its spectacular scenery along the Berg Lake Trail, passing through diverse environments from cedar rainforests to alpine lakes. The 50K Ultra includes significant elevation gain and highlights such landmarks as Emperor Falls and Berg Lake itself. The event also embraces family participation through the Kid’s Fun Run held near the Visitor Centre. Optional merchandise is available for purchase, and the atmosphere celebrates mountain trail running with community spirit and natural beauty.
Runners interested in testing themselves on these scenic routes should plan to register early and arrange pickup of race numbers on Friday evening or Saturday morning. The event draws both local runners and visitors aiming to experience the legendary Mount Robson terrain firsthand.
