Grit & Grind Trail Race at Camp Fortune is Run Ottawa's signature mountain trail event, set in the stunning Gatineau Park in Chelsea, Quebec. The 2026 edition is bigger than ever, now offering four distances — including a brand new 20K that has been designated as a UTMB Index Race, allowing runners to earn performance points toward global trail running rankings.

The course winds through pine-lined singletrack in Gatineau Park, blending technical sections with smooth runnable stretches, and rewarding runners with viewpoints and varied terrain across every distance. The quick-climbing 5K, the rolling 10K, and the new two-loop 20K endurance challenge all deliver a true mountain trail experience just across the river from Ottawa.

A Kids 2K race (ages 7-12) brings the trail adventure to younger runners, and a Green Bib option supports Ottawa Volunteer Search and Rescue. Registration includes a commemorative medal option, chip-timed results, and post-race refreshments.
