Edmonton Ice Cream Run 2026
The Edmonton Ice Cream Run returns to Edmonton on July 11, 2026, as a summer neighbourhood run centered in Kinsmen Park. The event combines a short-family friendly distance with traditional 5K and 10K options, and is presented by local organizers who stage packet pick-up and race-day services in the River Valley picnic area.
Races on July 11 include a 1K “Little Scoops” start at 9:30 a.m., followed by the 5K and 10K at 10:00 a.m. All distances begin at Kinsmen Park, Picnic Site 1 (9100 Walterdale Hill). Packet pick-up takes place the day before the race on Friday, July 10 from 1:00–6:00 p.m. at the 109 Street Running Room (8537–109 Street).
What distinguishes this event is its post-race ice cream buffet and family-first focus. Every participant receives a keepsake finishing medal and then moves straight to the picnic site for an ice cream spread with non-dairy, gluten-free, soy-free and nut-free alternatives offered alongside menu items that may contain common allergens. The race offers a community vibe with a prize for “The Biggest Family,” encourages teams and groups, and welcomes entrants of any age — strollers are permitted and dogs must follow City of Edmonton park regulations.
Registration is handled through the Race Roster event page linked by the organizers; prospective entrants can register online ahead of race day. For questions, the race contact email and phone number are listed by the organizers.
