The Cambridge Mill Race takes place Sunday, June 14, 2026 in Cambridge, Ontario. The community road and trail event has been held annually since at least 2013 and returns each summer to Riverbluffs Park and the Walter Bean Grand River Trail. Local volunteers and sponsors support the day, and proceeds above operating costs go to Pollinator Partnership Canada.
Race day features two distances: an 8 km out-and-back that starts at 10:30 a.m. and a 1 km Chipmunk Chase for kids aged 1–12 that starts at 10:00 a.m. The 8 km is chip timed with disposable chips attached to bibs; the Chipmunk Chase is untimed and family-friendly. Race kit pickup is available early on Saturday, June 13 at Runner’s Choice Waterloo (10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.) and on race morning near the start/finish from 9:00–10:00 a.m.
What makes Cambridge Mill Race feel like a neighbourhood festival is the finish-line hospitality: every participant receives a Cambridge Mill Race-branded souvenir and a medal for the Chipmunk Chase, plus a post-race lunch provided by The Cambridge Mill. Parke Massage Therapy offers complimentary post-race massages and Grand Café supplies coffee, so recovery and refreshments are part of the entry. The course runs on the Trans Canada-linked Walter Bean trail alongside the Grand River, and organizers welcome accessibility needs and volunteers, including student volunteer hour sign-offs.
Online registration opens February 1, 2026 and closes June 12, 2026; limited in-person kit pickup registration may be available June 13 if spots remain. Check registration windows and pick-up options when signing up.
