The Vancouver First Responders Half Marathon — Trail Edition takes place on Sunday, November 1, 2026 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Organized by Multisportscanada, this trail-focused version of the First Responders series has been staged in Vancouver in past years and the race archive extends back to 2015, making it a regular autumn fixture on the local running calendar.
The event offers a 21.1 km half marathon (run as two identical laps), a 10 km and a 5 km distance, plus a team category for the 21k and 10k where teams of four run together and team time is the average of the four individual finish times. Race-day timings start with a site opening at 9:00 a.m., a mandatory pre-race briefing at 9:45 a.m., the half-marathon at 10:00 a.m., the 10K at 10:15 a.m. and the 5K at 10:30 a.m. Race package pickup is held the day before at The Right Shoe (Saturday 1:00–4:00 p.m.) with Sunday pickup by request.
What sets this edition apart is the park setting and strong community focus: courses thread Pacific Spirit Regional Park and nearby reservoir trails — expect winding, rolling single- and multi-use forest trails and a steady climb on Sasamat Trail — and proceeds support first-responder-related charities including Wounded Warriors Canada and CMHA Vancouver-Fraser. Entry packages include a short-sleeve cotton event T-shirt and a finisher medal; the event also provides aid (fluid) stations, post-race snacks and draw-prize eligibility. Timing is provided by chip when minimum attendance is met (manual timing is used otherwise).
Online registration is open now with published fee tiers and several price increases during the year (fees rise January 1, May 1 and October 2); note that entries received after October 15 are not guaranteed event merchandise. Register early to secure your spot and any team entries.
