The CFB Esquimalt Navy Run (Course de la Marine) returns to Victoria on June 20, 2026. Hosted by CFB Esquimalt and presented as an annual community event, the Navy Run has grown steadily over the past five years and draws military personnel, families and Greater Victoria residents to a morning of running on and around the base.
The event offers a 10K and 5K for adults plus a free 1K Kids Fun Run for children. Runners can take part in person on race day or sign up for the Virtual Navy Run and complete their distance from anywhere in Canada. Race packages are available for pick-up on June 18 (1:00–6:00pm) and June 19 (3:00–6:30pm) at the Naden Athletic Centre (88 Naden Way); there is no package pick-up on race day. Registration follows early, regular and late windows, with late registration handled in person during package pick-up.
What sets the Navy Run apart is its military-community focus: units from CFB Esquimalt and Canadian units worldwide can register for the Unit Challenge, and the day includes family-friendly supports such as free childcare and a dedicated kids’ event. Participants collect their race bib and event shirt at pick-up, and virtual entrants have their packages shipped to the address on file. The course weaves through the streets of Esquimalt, creating a visible link between the base and the local community.
Online registration is open now; regular registration runs through June 12, with late sign-ups accepted at in-person package pick-up. Competitors should plan for base access requirements — a government-issued ID is required to pass the commissionaire’s gate for packet pick-up and race-day access.
