2026 5 Peaks Trail Running Series: Cypress Mountain
5 Peaks Trail Running Series: Cypress Mountain takes place on July 18 in Vancouver, BC and is organized by the 5 Peaks Trail Running Series. The event brings the series to Cypress Mountain for a day of technical trail running across alpine terrain and serviced resort trails.
Runners can choose from multiple distances: a Kid’s race, a 6.0 km Sport run (or hike), a 12.75 km Enduro run (or hike) and a 16.4 km Grit course that adds roughly 4 km of extra challenge. Race day starts early with on-site packet pickup at 7:00 a.m.; the Grit field self-seeds at 8:00 a.m., Enduro and Sport timed starts are later in the morning (Enduro 9:00 a.m., Sport 9:15 a.m.) and timed kids’ starts are scheduled separately. A non-competitive Hiker division starts about an hour earlier for those who prefer a supported, walk-only experience, with estimated finish times of ~2 hours for Sport and ~3 hours for Enduro.
Cypress stands out for its technical singletrack, steep climbs up doubletrack, and a particularly technical Enduro add-on that routes runners past two alpine lakes while they navigate rooty, rocky sections. On-course support follows 5 Peaks’ cup-free policy: bottled water and electrolyte drink are available at start/finish and at aid stations, with Blonyx Hydra+ provided as the event electrolyte. The venue also makes for a fun post-race scene — riders can hit the Eagle Coaster, choose from indoor and outdoor dining, or try axe throwing at the resort.
Registration is handled through Race Roster; optional swag and sustainably sourced wooden finisher medals can be pre-purchased online or bought on site while supplies last.
